    • Scalability and long-term value

Towards the end of this piece, you will be able to understand the right fit model for your unique needs and the reason behind the variation in pricing of different engagement models. You will also gain a deeper understanding of why the dedicated engagement model proves to be a cost-effective choice in the long run.

We contacted our subject matter expert, Jaydeep Salla, who has 9 years of experience dealing with a varied clientele base and, therefore, has a razor-sharp understanding of which model works best for different client needs.

Importance of choosing the right engagement model

Your requirements can be as different from those of another client as chalk and cheese!

For short-term requirements that you don’t see spilling into the foreseeable future, the P2P (project-to-project) model works like a charm. Suppose you have a one-off website design or development project that needs to be accomplished in a short period of time. The project-based engagement model might be the right fit for you.

However, if you want to set up and run PPC campaigns and accounts for your brand/agency, which will most likely be a long-term venture, you might want to explore the retainer model or hire a dedicated resource. If you’d like us to set up your PPC accounts or run an audit on your existing campaigns, which qualify as short-term projects, we can also take that up under the P2P model.

On that note, we want to mention that paid advertising (PPC specifically) is more of a long-term venture. To understand why we make that statement, you might want to read our blog, “What do I need to know about long-term PPC management?

While you can always peruse the different engagement and pricing models at Mavlers, we would love to get on a consultation call with you and help you find a good fit.

Choosing the right-fit engagement model aligned with your requirements sets the tone right and ensures that you pay a fair amount of money in return for the tasks expected and the efforts invested.

Understanding the Mavlers dedicated model and its pricing

When asked about the steeper investment clients must make when investing in a dedicated resource, our expert Jaydeep Salla observed: “Hiring a dedicated resource doesn’t prove to be expensive in the long run.

On the contrary, I might even say that it is the most convenient and effective way to engage with Mavlers.

We will now look into why the statement holds weight.

Even considering the pricing structure, the dedicated model will be more cost-effective than other engagement models tailored to suit requirements with a shorter execution term.

So, hiring a dedicated resource or team with specific skill sets is quite similar to hiring an employee for your firm. The only difference is that an in-house onshore hire works in your office, while a dedicated resource (or team) works for you from a different offshore location

The roles and responsibilities of both in-house and offshore dedicated employees are the same, and the time zones are also synchronized (at Mavlers, at least). When you hire an in-house employee, you must also set up the infrastructure and offer employee insurance and other overheads.

In contrast, a dedicated resource fulfills the same professional expectations, works in your time zones, and follows your processes without added costs.

It might seem expensive to compare the dedicated model pricing with the hourly project-based pricing. For instance, if you have a one-time web development project or a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tracking request that might take 2-3 months tentatively, you will have to pay USD 30 per hour, whereas if you choose to hire a dedicated PPC resource to set up, monitor, and optimize your firm’s PPC campaigns across channels you might have to cough up anywhere between USD 2500- 3500  monthly for a full-time mid-level dedicated resource (3 to 5 years of experience).

However, if you divide USD 2500 by 160 hours to understand the average hourly cost of hiring a full-time dedicated PPC resource, the figure is close to USD 16, which is much more cost-effective than a project-to-project PPC cost of USD 25 per hour!

Also, the average annual cost of hiring a dedicated resource with Mavlers across services is USD 38,400, and when you do the math (38,400/160*12), the hourly cost comes to a cool dollar 20, which is even less than a cup of coffee! (We are not talking Tim Horton’s here, buddy!) 🙂

You see, it is not that expensive, provided you have clarity on what you seek, consistency of the work, and the expected duration of association!

To be honest, the reason why the dedicated model turns out to be more cost-effective in the long run is because of the following reasons:

  • Long-term commitment (6-12+ months) from the client ensures that the client will continue their association with us for a longer period. Therefore, we can allocate a resource to cater to their requirements
  • Consistency of workflow, which ensures that the allocated resource will be optimally utilized for 80 or 160 hours per month (as highlighted in the scope of work)
  • Committed hours invested by a dedicated resource
  • Single POC (your dedicated resource), though you will always have a subject matter expert overseeing the progress, which eliminates the need to hire a project manager/coordinator

The monetary benefits we accrue because of the above factors enable us to pass them on to our valued clients.

Wondering if you are a good fit for the dedicated model? Read all about it on our engagement model’s blog!

Let’s look at the reasons why dedicated resources might require more of an investment!

Reasons why dedicated resources come at a higher price

Advanced capabilities

As mentioned above, hiring a dedicated resource from Mavlers is similar to making an in-house addition to your team. The benefits are as follows:

  • The resource works in your time zone (in the rare case that time zones do not align, we ensure an overlap of 4-5 hours with your team. This ensures that the resource can communicate seamlessly with you, understand the requirements, and complete the day’s tasks in the remaining 3 or 4 hours)
  • Follows your programs and processes
  • The resource who actually does the work communicates with you directly
  • Lesser chances of miscommunication or communication gaps

We also allow our resources to be trained in your tools and processes to ensure seamless alignment and collaboration. For example, if you use a specific customized project management tool, we might request you arrange a one-time training session for our resource with the requisite skill set to meet your requirements.

Also, there will always be a subject matter expert (SME) and a dedicated resource who will fill in or optimize the expected deliverables.

So, irrespective of whether training of any sort is required, you can expect your deliverables at the set frequency as highlighted in the scope of work. Also, did we mention that we take full responsibility for the deliverables in every engagement model?! 🙂

Customization and flexibility

Hiring a dedicated resource or team with the requisite expertise might be a good option if you need a more customized, comprehensive, and flexible long-term association with Mavlers.

Suppose you hire a dedicated digital marketing resource to handle paid social media needs on several channels, such as Google, Instagram, and Facebook. However, suppose you feel that you might want to expand and explore other channels, such as TikTok marketing, in the next six months. In that case, we can train the allocated resources in the necessary skill set so that you can utilize the same resource as and when the need arises for more varied requirements in the same skill subset.

On the other hand, in the P2P model, the timelines are shorter, and training the same resource in a different skill set might not be feasible. Therefore, in such cases, we’d rather allocate a resource who is already familiar with TikTok marketing than train someone who is not.

Exclusive priority support and maintenance

In the dedicated model, the resource works on requirements according to your priorities. For instance, if a resource is running and optimizing PPC campaigns across three channels, you might instruct them to prioritize the ad spend on any particular channel or introduce a fourth channel where you’d like your ads to appear. We don’t charge extra if your requirements can be met within 160 hours per month for a full-time dedicated resource.

However, in P2P, we go ahead with the requirements according to the priorities decided in the scope of work, and it might not be possible to account for instances of changes in priorities or scope creep.

You can always convey your concerns to the dedicated resource or the subject matter expert and expect quick solutions.

Scalability and long-term value

The resource that you hire grows with your business, so to speak! 🙂

The dedicated model allows you to build a team of resources as and when your business needs expand. For instance, if you currently have one dedicated resource and later feel the need to add a couple more resources with different skill sets, that can also be arranged.

So these resources are trainable, flexible, scalable, and offer greater long-term value for your business!

The road ahead

You are now familiar with why hiring a dedicated model will be a more cost-effective option for long-time associations.
