Requirement gathering and analysis

Once you share your requirements and approve the final Scope of Work, the Account Manager shares it with the Shopify design and development team at Mavlers. They analyze the requirements and share the estimated timelines, tasks, and estimated costs.

Shopify store setup and design

Once you purchase a Shopify account and share the account details with us, we will begin setting up your store. We then install the selected theme and simultaneously begin designing the home page, product pages, etc.

When it comes to design requirements, we follow a hierarchy. We create wireframes based on the shared reference websites, prepare the layout designs, and then seek your approval.

We deploy the following best practices while preparing layout designs;

  • We design page layouts for key pages like the home page, product pages, collections, and checkout. We also design the website’s visual style, including typography, colors, and imagery.
  • We use Figma features like grids, components, and auto layout to ensure consistency and responsiveness across devices.

Once the designs are approved, we will proceed with the development. The development section involves backend and frontend coding of the different pages, such as the home page, product listing pages, and cart pages. Since Shopify is a self-hosted platform with certain limitations, we determine how to develop and design within the set frameworks.

We deliver responsive and user-friendly interfaces.

Development and customization

Based on the initial client request and deliverables highlighted in the scope of work, we begin with developing the theme, which includes the front end’s home page, product listing page, collection page, and cart page.

However, if you require additional facilities to be introduced in the backend, then we will need to introduce certain applications. If you want to add “Abandoned Cart” functionality to your Shopify account’s back end, we can install Kalviyo.

If you need to integrate a specific functionality in your Shopify account for which there is no existing application, we can create a custom application (also called a private application) to meet your requirements.

On the other hand, public apps are available on the main Shopify website, and you can buy them as per your requirements.

So, we can help you meet your specific functionality requirements through custom/private apps or the right public application.

We offer tailored solutions to meet specific business requirements. We have built many Shopify apps for clients, making deploying Shopify a seamless experience for business owners like you and your store visitors!

PS: We can’t disclose the names of the custom Shopify applications since we take our NDAs quite seriously!

Optimization and performance enhancement

To improve website speed and performance, we examine elements like code optimization, server configuration, lazy loading, minification and compression, database optimization, and performance testing.

For SEO optimization, we follow SEO best practices and optimize Core Web Vitals metrics, including:

  • Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)
  • First Input Delay (FID)
  • Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)

This involves optimizing page load times, improving interactivity, and minimizing visual instability to enhance user experience.

Frequently asked questions

This section will answer any doubts regarding your Shopify needs and Mavlers’ ability to cater to them.

Q. I’d like to build a Shopify website; I have some references, too. How can you help me?

So, if you have samples or references ready, we can help you build your Shopify website in two ways.

If you’d like a custom website, we will create the design from scratch, get it approved, and then proceed with the development process.

If you have budget constraints, we can recommend a readymade theme that you can buy, and we can help you set it up on Shopify’s platform.

The timelines will vary depending on your unique requirements. We recommend getting on a free consultation call with us to gain further insight.

We recommend scheduling a free consultation call with us to discuss a tailored solution that best meets your needs.

Q. What is Shopify’s scalability, and can you help us with that?

There are two kinds of Shopify versions available. The basic version is best suited for small businesses with limited products. In contrast, Shopify Plus is recommended for businesses with over a million products in their database.

If you want to scale and grow your business, we recommend using the Shopify Plus version for your store. However, you will have to upgrade your Shopify account on your own.

Q. I’m facing issues with tracking customer journeys in Shopify. Do you have the expertise here?

You can use multiple tools like Hotjar and Google Analytics to track customer journeys.

We recommend using Klaviyo and HubSpot to monitor customer journeys in Shopify. We can integrate these API integrations in your Shopify platform on request.

Q. What are the costs of API integrations in Shopify?

The answer to this question is, “It depends!” On factors like the complexity of the third-party integrations and the platforms we are considering. The costs are calculated on a time and material basis.

On average, you can expect to pay USD 25 per hour for your design and development requirements at Mavlers.
